Adani Green Energy (AGEL) has announced the commissioning of a 250 MW solar power project in Rajasthan, which has increased its total operational renewable generation capacity to 13,091.1 MW. This milestone is a significant achievement, making AGEL the first and only renewable energy company in India to reach this landmark. The company’s subsidiaries have also cumulatively commissioned 1,000 MW capacity in Rajasthan in the current financial year.
AGEL is a leader in the renewable energy sector, developing, owning, and operating utility-scale grid-connected solar, wind, hybrid, and hydro pumped storage power plants across 12 states. Its portfolio consists of 9,097.5 MW solar, 1,651 MW wind, and 2,259.6 MW wind-solar hybrid capacity.
The company is also working on a massive project to develop the world’s largest renewable energy plant with a capacity of 30 GW on a barren wasteland in Khavda, Gujarat. The project is being developed in phases, with 2,824.1 MW of renewable energy already operationalized. AGEL aims to achieve a target of 50 GW by 2030, in line with India’s decarbonization goals.
This achievement demonstrates AGEL’s commitment to playing a significant role in India’s transition to a low-carbon economy. With its growing capacity, AGEL is well-positioned to meet the increasing demand for renewable energy and contribute to a sustainable future.
