The Indian Institute of Sustainable Development (IISD) and Carbon Minus India (CMI) hosted the Global Sustainability Summit (GSS) 2025 in New Delhi, celebrating India’s leadership in sustainability and resilience. The summit brought together global experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss solutions to enhance lives through research, innovation, and grassroots engagement, making India a global leader in sustainability and decarbonization.

The event saw the signing of industry-oriented MoUs with institutions like the Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha, Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council, Environmental Defense Fund, and the Indian Youth Climate Network to promote sustainable practices. Dr. Srikanta K. Panigrahi, Director General of IISD, described the summit as a crucial platform to discuss sustainable solutions and accelerate the transition to a greener, more resilient, and sustainable society.

The summit featured sessions on sustainable finance, ESG and BRSR compliance, green hydrogen, renewable energy, and decarbonization, as well as sustainable manufacturing, cities, and construction management. The event also spotlighted sustainable fashion and textiles, emphasizing circularity in the industry. Industry leaders, such as Mr. Rajeev Gupta of RSWM Ltd, shared their initiatives and experiences in incorporating sustainability into their business practices, highlighting the importance of embedding sustainability into every aspect of operations.

The Galactic Sustainability Summit 2025 concluded with the digital release of the Technical Compendium, which provides a comprehensive understanding of the sustainability challenges and opportunities facing the world. The event aimed to foster industry-wide collaboration and alignment to accelerate the transition to a greener future, making India a global leader in sustainability.
