CtrlS Datacenters Ltd, Asia’s largest Rated-4 datacenter operator, has unveiled its captive solar farm, “GreenVolt 1”, in India. The 125 MWp solar farm, located in Nagpur, Maharashtra, will power 60% of CtrlS’ Mumbai Datacenter Campus with clean energy. The project has two phases, with Phase 1 already operational and Phase 2 under implementation. CtrlS has invested over a year in research and development to optimize the project and comply with regulations.
The company aims to develop over 1GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 across India, including ongoing investments in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka. CtrlS is committed to reducing carbon emissions and promoting renewable energy adoption. The company has set a goal to achieve Net Zero by 2040 and is investing in solar projects across India to fulfill this goal.
