Odisha Aims to Become India’s Next Green Energy Hub by 2036
With a bold vision for a cleaner and more resilient future, Odisha is set to become India’s next green energy hub by 2036. The state’s Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, has announced plans to strengthen the energy supply chain, with a focus on clean energy and sustainable mobility. To achieve this goal, the Odisha Cleantech Global Expo will be held on February 12-13, 2026, in Bhubaneswar, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, policymakers, and investors from over 20 countries.
The expo will feature over 200 companies, including Saatvik Green Energy, Navitas, and Novasys, and will provide a platform for new innovations, product launches, and business networking. The event is expected to attract over 10,000 business visitors and 1,000 business delegates, and will include a conference, CXO roundtable, and Cleantech Excellence Awards. The expo will accelerate public-private partnerships, investment opportunities, and technology showcases, and will be a key platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and business development.
The Odisha Cleantech Global Expo is supported by the recently launched Odisha Cleantech Association (OCTA), which unites over 50 industry leaders to advance renewables, circular economy, and EV adoption. The expo will feature specialized pavilions for battery energy storage, EV and charging infrastructure, solar, green hydrogen, smart grids, and academic research. Attendees will engage in high-impact activities such as the Clean Energy Leadership Conference, workshops for students and professionals, leadership roundtables, and B2B networking with global OEMs, startups, regulators, and financiers.
Organizations such as Net Zero Energy Transition Association (NETRA), National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI), and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) are actively engaged to drive the event in various segments. The premier two-day event highlights Odisha’s ambitious energy vision, including a 10 GW renewable target, and advancements in battery storage, electric vehicles, green hydrogen, and more. Odisha is also exploring newer technologies like tidal energy, AGRO PV, floating solar, and advanced tech BESS adoption for grid modernization and energy transition.
Overall, the Odisha Cleantech Global Expo is a significant step towards achieving Odisha’s goal of becoming India’s next green energy hub by 2036. The event will provide a platform for industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to come together and shape the future of clean energy and sustainable mobility in Eastern India. With its focus on collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and business development, the expo is set to accelerate the growth of the clean energy sector in the region and contribute to a sustainable future for all.
