The Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM) has launched the State Energy Conservation Awards (SECA) for the fifth consecutive year, aiming to promote energy efficiency among industries, institutions, and urban local bodies. The awards recognize organizations that demonstrate outstanding improvements in energy management, adoption of efficient technologies, and sustained reductions in carbon emissions. APSECM CEO S Nagalakshmi encouraged major energy-consuming sectors to participate in the awards, which have become a prestigious platform for promoting healthy competition among high-energy-use sectors.

To be eligible for the SECA-2025 awards, organizations must meet specific energy consumption and connected load criteria. Eligible sectors include thermal power plants, cement industries, pharmaceutical industries, engineering colleges, hotels, APSRTC bus depots, municipalities, and urban development authorities. The awards aim to motivate industries and institutions to adopt modern, energy-efficient practices and contribute to the state’s climate-responsible development.

The government of Andhra Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, has made energy efficiency a top priority for reducing demand and promoting sustainability. The SECA awards are a key initiative in this effort, and applications can be submitted online through the official SECA-2025 portal. The portal provides guidelines and evaluation parameters, and the last date for submission is December 5.

By participating in the SECA awards, organizations can showcase their achievements in energy efficiency and contribute to the state’s environmental and energy-saving goals. The awards also provide an opportunity for organizations to learn from each other and adopt best practices in energy management. With the state government’s focus on energy efficiency and sustainability, the SECA awards are an important initiative that can help reduce energy consumption and promote a more sustainable future for Andhra Pradesh. Overall, the SECA awards are a significant step towards promoting energy efficiency and sustainability in the state, and organizations are encouraged to participate and contribute to this effort.
