MATTER Motor Works, an Indian electric mobility company, has launched its flagship electric motorbike, the AERA 5000+, in Chennai. The bike features a 4-speed manual gearbox, known as HyperShift, which combines manual gear shifting with the quiet torque and smooth power delivery of an electric vehicle. The AERA 5000+ has a liquid-cooled powertrain, designed for Indian riding conditions, and a 5kWh battery pack with a certified range of up to 172 km.
The bike comes with a range of features, including a smart 7-inch touchscreen dashboard, dual disc brakes with ABS, and a dual suspension system. It also has a range of connected features, including live tracking, remote locking, and over-the-air updates, which can be accessed through the MATTERVerse mobile app. The AERA 5000+ also comes with a lifetime battery warranty, making it a viable option for daily commuting and extended rides.
The bike has a top speed of 105 km/h and can accelerate from 0-40 km/h in under 2.8 seconds. It also features a range of ride modes, including Eco, City, Sport, and Park Assist. The AERA 5000+ is priced at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs. 1,93,826 and is available for booking on the company’s official website.
MATTER Motor Works has also launched its first Experience Hub in Chennai, which will allow customers to experience the AERA 5000+ firsthand. The company’s founder and group COO, Arun Pratap Singh, said that the bike represents a new era in India’s electric vehicle journey, with its indigenous gearbox, liquid-cooled powertrain, and connected intelligence. He added that the bike is designed for riders who value control and comfort, and that it is a meeting point of engineering, endurance, and emotion.
The AERA 5000+ is available in five color options, including Cosmic Black, Cosmic Blue, Glacier White, Blaze Red, and Nord Grey. Customers can visit the Experience Hub in Perumbakkam, Chennai to explore the bike and experience its features firsthand.
