The Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under the Ministry of Power, has appointed A Chandra Sekhara Reddy as its National Advisor for Government Affairs and Media. This appointment is a significant step towards accelerating India’s energy efficiency and conservation drive. Reddy, with over three decades of experience in the power sector, will play a crucial role in shaping EESL’s outreach and stakeholder engagement strategy, both nationally and globally.

Reddy has a strong background in communication strategies, having served as Media Adviser for the Southern States and Union Territories at the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). He was instrumental in popularizing the Government of India’s flagship programs, including Mission LiFE. Prior to this, he worked in the Chief Minister’s office for nine years and as CEO of the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (SECM) for over a decade.

As National Advisor, Reddy will be responsible for designing comprehensive communication strategies across various media platforms, creating awareness about energy efficiency and conservation programs, and driving behavioral change. He will also mentor EESL’s PR team, coordinate with State-Designated Agencies (SDA) and other stakeholders, and ensure effective communication of the organization’s mission.

The appointment of Reddy is also a recognition of Andhra Pradesh’s significant contribution to the National Energy Conservation movement. Under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the state has achieved the National Energy Conservation 1st Award for three consecutive years (2015, 2016, and 2017) and has attracted global recognition. EESL aims to leverage Reddy’s expertise and experience to further accelerate India’s energy efficiency and conservation drive, and his appointment is expected to have a positive impact on the organization’s mission to promote sustainable energy practices.
