The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) recently celebrated Seva Parv, a nationwide initiative promoting public service and community participation, by organizing a Seva Samvaad event. Held on September 20, 2025, at the Ashoka Hall in Delhi, the event coincided with SECI’s 14th Foundation Day, marking its journey in advancing renewable energy in India. The theme of the event, “Amrit Urja for Viksit Bharat 2047,” brought together policymakers, industry leaders, financiers, and thought leaders to discuss India’s renewable energy achievements and future pathways.
The event commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a welcome address by SECI’s Managing Director, Akash Tripathi. He emphasized the need to overcome challenges and work on innovative models to drive India’s renewable energy growth. Tripathi also highlighted the importance of establishing export markets for green molecules, leveraging falling battery storage costs, and enabling renewable energy adoption through market mechanisms.
Distinguished dignitaries, including Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and Chairman of SECI, shared their perspectives on India’s clean energy trajectory. Sarangi highlighted SECI’s role in addressing critical market gaps and diversifying into green hydrogen, wind, hybrid solutions, and battery storage. He emphasized the need for SECI to collaborate with states, DISCOMs, and private developers to customize innovative supply models and work with the International Solar Alliance (ISA) to expand its international efforts.
The event featured two thematic sessions: “Leading the Change – India’s Renewable Energy Success Story” and “The Next Leap – India’s Clean Energy Pathway to 2047.” These sessions celebrated India’s progress in renewable energy deployment and discussed its long-term vision for building resilient energy systems. The discussions focused on India’s remarkable transition in renewable energy and its contribution to sustainable development, as well as the role of emerging technologies in shaping the country’s clean energy future. Overall, the event provided a platform for stakeholders to reflect on India’s renewable energy achievements and deliberate on the pathway to a clean, resilient, and energy-secure future.
