Honda has released a teaser for an upcoming electric bike on its UK social media handle, showcasing a camouflaged test mule. The bike bears a resemblance to the EV Fun Concept, which was unveiled at EICMA 2024. The teaser reveals several features, including a TFT dashboard, a horizontal LED Daytime Running Light (DRL), and a single-sided swingarm with 17-inch wheels and Pirelli Rosso 3 tires. The bike is expected to have a performance equivalent to a 500cc motorcycle, based on Honda’s previous statements about the EV Fun Concept.

The teaser also includes a brief audio clip of the motor’s whine, confirming that the bike is indeed an electric vehicle. Honda has announced that the bike will be unveiled on September 2. This upcoming model appears to be Honda’s first solo project in the electric motorcycle space, following the launch of the Honda E-VO in China, which was developed in partnership with a local brand.

It’s worth noting that an India launch may not be imminent, as Honda is currently focusing on rolling out its electric scooters in the domestic market. The company’s decision to prioritize electric scooters in India may indicate that the electric bike will be targeted towards other markets, at least initially.

The release of the electric bike is significant, as it marks Honda’s entry into the electric motorcycle market. With its expected performance and futuristic design cues, the bike is likely to generate interest among motorcycle enthusiasts. However, the lack of an immediate India launch plans may disappoint some fans of the brand in the country
