Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, urged industry stakeholders to adopt sustainable practices, reduce import dependence, and prioritize green and earthquake-resistant infrastructure at the CAPEXIL’s Vibrant Buildcon 2025 event. He emphasized India’s growing strength in the construction ecosystem, highlighting the country’s progress in areas such as Global Capability Centres, domestic manufacturing under Make in India, and key sectors like housing, infrastructure, and energy.
Goyal noted that India’s rapid infrastructure development has been led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has conceptualized world-class convention centers like Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi during the pandemic. These state-of-the-art venues have hosted global events such as the G20 Summit and Startup Mahakumbh.
The Minister also touched upon several major government initiatives, including the development of 20 new smart industrial cities, improved tourism infrastructure across 50 destinations, and 100 new industrial plug-and-play hubs. He emphasized the importance of citizen participation in achieving India’s goal of becoming a $30-35 trillion economy by 2047, stating that “every citizen must contribute to Viksit Bharat 2047.”
Goyal’s speech emphasized the need for the industry to adopt best practices in sustainability, reduce dependency on imports, and focus on clean and green construction. He highlighted the importance of earthquake-resistant and modular infrastructure, underscoring the government’s commitment to promoting sustainable development and growth in the country.
