Havells India, a leading player in the fast-moving electrical goods (FMEG) industry, has made a strategic minority investment of ₹600 crore in Goldi Solar, a move that marks a significant milestone in its foray into the renewable energy space. This investment is part of Goldi Solar’s broader fundraising effort of up to ₹1,300 crore, which is expected to be completed within the next 75 days. The partnership aims to accelerate the deployment of renewable technologies across India, combining Havells’ expertise in energy generation, storage, distribution, and consumption with Goldi Solar’s solar manufacturing capabilities.
This investment aligns with Havells’ long-term vision of participating in the energy transition, a natural extension of its core operations. By partnering with Goldi Solar, Havells aims to create value through diversification and leverage synergies for the development of integrated solar solutions. The partnership will focus on driving innovation and integration in the solar sector, leveraging Havells’ industry expertise and distribution reach to support India’s clean energy ambitions.
India’s renewable energy sector is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16% through 2030, with solar energy projected to contribute around 300 GW towards the target. This positions solar energy as a key driver of future energy infrastructure, accounting for approximately 64% of the nation’s total projected energy capacity. With this investment, Havells reinforces its commitment to sustainability and positions itself as a proactive player in India’s green energy transition.
The move is expected to enhance Havells’ product ecosystem and support national goals for cleaner, more resilient energy systems. The partnership will also enable Havells to tap into the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions, driven by increasing environmental concerns and government initiatives to promote renewable energy. With this investment, Havells takes a bold step towards a sustainable future, solidifying its position as a leading player in the renewable energy sector.
