The Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) in association with All India Tennis Association (AITA) and Pune Metropolitan District Tennis Association (PMDTA) has announced The Ecofactory Foundation (TEFF) as the official Sustainability Partner for the Billie Jean King Cup 2025 Asia-Oceania Group 1. The tournament, scheduled from April 8 to April 12 at Pune’s Mhalunge Balewadi Tennis Complex, aims to emphasize a “zero waste” theme and promote sustainability.
The partnership is led by Mr. Sunder Iyer, Hon Secretary of MSLTA, and Anand Chordia, Director of Technology & Innovation at Suhana Masala and Founder of TEFF. One of the notable initiatives is the “Vrukshdaan Abhiyaan” (Tree Donation Drive), where over 20,000 saplings will be distributed to participants, attendees, and community members to promote ecological preservation.
The “Shashwat Bharat Setu – Winning Net Zero,” a mobile learning and awareness center, will also be featured at the tournament venue. The center aims to spread awareness on the importance of sustainability and environmental responsibility. The partnership between MSLTA and TEFF reflects the organization’s commitment to sustainability and making the tournament a model for sustainable events.
As part of the partnership, TEFF has curated eco-friendly gifts for participating players, including an eco-calendar as a souvenir. The organization aims to spread awareness among players and visitors that just as they care for their personal health, they must equally care for the health of the planet. The collaboration showcases TEFF’s role in merging environmental consciousness with influential global events, driving India towards a sustainable and greener future.
