Arvind Patel, director of Amrut Energy Pvt Ltd, a company specializing in renewable energy solutions, has achieved remarkable success with a Rs 100 crore funding from private equity investors. What’s remarkable is that Arvind, 37, built this empire with just a BA in Hindi! He started his journey after completing his graduation in 2007, and his company is now projected to reach a Rs 150 crore turnover by the end of this financial year, with a year-on-year growth of nearly 50%.
Arvind’s company manufactures solar water pumps and other renewable energy solutions to help farmers across India, particularly marginalized communities struggling with inadequate electricity for multiple crop cycles. His company has developed comprehensive, integrated solar energy solutions, including complete solar pump systems, solar panels, controllers, and installation structures. By offering a complete system, farmers can now access renewable energy in as little as two days, rather than waiting months to assemble the different parts.
Arvind’s vision is to help farmers from different states, making it a Rs 1,500 crore company in the next 10 years. He emphasizes that, coming from an agricultural background, he understands farmers’ challenges intimately and is committed to providing optimal clean energy solutions. The company’s expansion plans include hiring another 200 technical staff to cater to the growing demand for renewable energy solutions.
With a strength of 300 staff, the company is working with farmers from various states, including West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, North-eastern states, and southern states, including Gujarat. The investment of Rs 100 crore will enable the company to enhance manufacturing capabilities, drive R&D, and scale its impact across underserved regions.
