A major fire broke out in the parking area of a residential building in Lalbagh, Lucknow, on Thursday morning. The incident began when an electric bike left on charging caught fire, causing flames to spread rapidly and gut several vehicles. The fire also filled the apartment complex with heavy smoke, trapping six members of a family, including an elderly woman, on the fourth floor.

Luckily, firefighters responded quickly to the emergency and successfully rescued the trapped residents, as well as others in the building. The operation took about an hour, but no casualties were reported. The fire was brought under control, and the blaze was doused.

The Silver Oak Apartment complex, which has five floors, including the ground floor, was affected by the fire. According to eyewitnesses, the fire broke out at 5:03 am, and residents noticed flames and immediately alerted the fire department. Fire tenders from Hazratganj and Aminabad arrived at the scene and launched a dual-front attack, combing the fire while also rescuing those trapped inside.

Firefighters used ladders and the staircase to guide residents out safely, including a family of seven who were found sealed in their flat with smoke filling the room. The family members, aged 82 to 13, were rescued along with other residents.

Although the fire destroyed 11 vehicles, firefighters managed to save 10 others. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the apartment complex, which confirmed that the fire originated from an electric scooter left on charging. The fire department emphasized the need for proper fire safety measures in residential complexes, highlighting the lack of adequate measures in the affected building.
