Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd has successfully delivered a 60 MVA, 132/33 kV transformer to the Corner Copse Solar Farm in the UK. The transformer, which was manufactured at Ganz’s factory and shipped just before Christmas, has been commissioned in March 2025 and is now ready for energization. The project marks a significant step in expanding renewable energy infrastructure in the UK, with the transformer playing a critical role in integrating solar power into the national grid and ensuring efficient and stable energy transmission.

Ganz has also equipped the transformer with its advanced iReady intelligent monitoring system, featuring direct hot-spot measurement and DGA-3 diagnostics to enhance performance, reliability, and operational efficiency. This cutting-edge technology enables real-time monitoring and monitoring of the transformer’s performance, allowing for any issues to be quickly identified and addressed.

The Corner Copse Solar Farm is expected to make a significant contribution to the UK’s renewable energy transition by increasing clean energy capacity and reducing carbon emissions. The project is a result of a collaboration between Ganz and BayWa r.e. EMEA UK Ltd, and is a positive step towards a greener and more sustainable future.

Ganz is proud of its team and partners for making the project a success, and sees it as a key milestone in its commitment to supporting a more sustainable future. The delivery of this transformer is a significant achievement, and Ganz’s expertise in transformer manufacturing and intelligent monitoring technology is helping to drive the transition to a more sustainable energy future.
