Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to solar energy and solarization policy, dismissing any potential changes. He emphasized the need to clear up any misunderstandings about the policy, stating that facts and figures would be presented to the public to clarify the matter. During a review meeting with the Power Division, the Prime Minister instructed the relevant authorities to speed up the liquidation of power generation companies and expedite the privatization of distribution companies.

The Prime Minister also directed the Power Division, Water Resources Division, and Petroleum Division to collaborate on a comprehensive strategy for the energy sector. He emphasized the need for coordination to achieve this goal. The meeting was attended by senior government officials, including the Federal Minister for Power Division, Sardar Awais Leghari, and the Advisor to the Prime Minister, Dr. Taqeer Shah.

To provide further relief to the public, the Prime Minister is formulating a package to reduce electricity tariffs, which will be announced soon. This package aims to bring down electricity prices, providing a reprieve to the public. Overall, the Prime Minister’s meeting and instructions highlight the government’s commitment to addressing the energy sector’s challenges and improving the country’s power infrastructure.
