The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) has acknowledged the efforts of the Andhra Pradesh government in promoting energy efficiency in the state. BEE Secretary, Milind Deora, highlighted that Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are at the forefront in establishing energy clubs to raise awareness among people on energy conservation. He commended the Chief Secretaries of the two states for their strong cooperation in advancing BEE’s energy initiatives.

BEE’s Media Adviser, A. Chandra Sekhara Reddy, emphasized the need for a three-pronged strategy to engage public and private entities in energy conservation. The strategy involves encouraging government departments, utilities, and organizations to nominate nodal officers to take up energy-saving initiatives, appointing school principals as chairpersons of energy clubs to promote energy efficiency among students, and utilizing the media to educate the public about the importance of saving energy.

BEE aims to strengthen India’s fight against climate change by promoting energy efficiency. The ultimate goal is to ensure that 80% of India’s villages and urban areas become environmentally friendly by 2028. Reddy highlighted the importance of establishing energy clubs in schools to raise awareness among children and emphasized that energy efficiency is a crucial aspect of sustainable development. Overall, BEE is working to reduce the country’s energy consumption and carbon footprint, and its efforts are gaining recognition at the state and national levels.
