Hertz, a rental car company, is offering a range of electric vehicles (EVs) for sale at discounted prices. These vehicles include the Chevrolet Silverado EV, Chevrolet Bolt, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and Tesla Model 3. The company has trimmed back its electric fleet, leaving a surplus of low-mileage EVs available for purchase.
The Chevrolet Silverado EV, which typically costs between $60,000 to $75,000 when new, is being sold by Hertz for a steep discount. Some models with as little as 808 miles on them are being sold for around $54,000, while others with 25,000 miles on them are being sold for $51,000. The Ford Mustang Mach-E GT, which costs around $55,000 when new, is also being sold in the mid-$30,000 range with 10,000-15,000 miles on the clock.
The Chevrolet Bolt, with a range of 259 miles and charging speeds, is being sold for around $16,000 with 30,000 miles, and the Bolt EUV is available for around $20,000 with 10,000-30,000 miles. The Tesla Model 3, which typically costs around $35,000 when new, is being sold for under $25,000, with one example having 122,000 miles on it.
While these vehicles are former rental cars and may have wear and tear, they offer an opportunity to get into an EV at a discounted price. Hertz is also offering a range of mileage options, so customers can choose the one that best fits their needs. With the offer of a $4,000 used-EV tax credit, the prices become even more attractive.
