The village of Ladsawangi in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has been struggling with frequent power cuts, resulting in a water supply crisis, with residents receiving water only once every 15 days. However, a new solar-powered water pump has been installed to bring relief to the villagers. The gram panchayat completed the project on Sunday, and by 1 pm, water began flowing into the government well. The village will now receive water every two days, a significant improvement from the current situation.

The solar pump, which is 10 horsepower, will run for 10 hours daily, while the grid electricity provides an additional 8 hours, making a total of 18 hours of water pumping. The project, which cost Rs 10 lakh, aims to ensure a reliable and consistent water supply to the village. To sustain the system, the gram panchayat is urging villagers to pay water taxes.

The village relies on the Babuwadi Dam for its water supply, but the limited and erratic power supply has disrupted the system. The new solar-powered water pump is expected to bring significant relief to the villagers, providing a stable and consistent supply of water. The gram panchayat is encouraging villagers to support the system by paying water taxes, as providing services without revenue is not sustainable. With the new solar-powered pump, Ladsawangi is looking forward to a more reliable and efficient water supply system.
