JSW MG Motor India has launched its fourth pilot project, “Project Revive,” focused on second-life battery applications. This initiative aims to harness the potential of EV batteries beyond their primary lifespan, reducing waste, and promoting sustainability. The company has partnered with LICO Materials, a pioneer in end-of-life battery recycling and refurbishing, to develop energy storage solutions for diverse applications, including residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

The project features three models with capacities ranging from 18kWh to 300kWh, designed to operate efficiently across a wide temperature range. The systems come with advanced safety features, including immersion oil cooling and heating, multi-layered safety designs, and smart thermal management systems. Each system is backed by a 5-year warranty, ensuring long-term reliability.

Neha Jain, Head of EV and Innovation Ecosystem, JSW MG Motor India, emphasized the importance of “Project Revive” in making the EV ecosystem more sustainable. The partnership with LICO Materials is a testament to the company’s commitment to developing sustainable energy storage solutions that combine advanced technology with environmental responsibility.

The pilot project is part of JSW MG Motor India’s broader vision to minimize environmental impact, which has involved various initiatives, such as battery recycling, off-grid charging stations, and deploying BESS units to power schools. The company’s goal is to innovate in sustainable mobility solutions and contribute to India’s energy transformation.

Vikram Handa, Managing Director at Epsilon Carbon, noted that the collaboration is redefining how energy is stored and used, making a lasting impact on the way the world is powered. Gaurav Dolwani, Founder and CEO of LICO Materials, added that the LiGRID series embodies the company’s vision of a greener, circular economy and its commitment to sustainable energy solutions. The project’s success will pave the way for a cleaner and more sustainable future.
