Ethanol groups in the US are focused on exporting ethanol products to countries like Indonesia, Vietnam, and India, where they are considering increasing their ethanol blend rates. India, for example, aims to increase its blend rate to 20% over the next few years. The Renewable Fuels Association’s Scott Richman notes that there are “plenty of opportunities” for US ethanol producers in these countries. He also expressed hope that Congress will pass a year-round E15 bill before the session ends, which would strengthen the domestic supply of ethanol. Overall, ethanol groups are looking to expand markets abroad and are optimistic about the outlook.
