China reveals full specs of BYD’s all-new Dolphin electric hatchback

The Chinese authorities announced the new BYD Dolphin all-electric hatchback, a facelift model with minor design changes. The new car comes with a 130 kW (174 hp) electric motor option, an upgrade from the previous model. The price range for the 2025 BYD Dolphin is 99,800 – 129,800 yuan (13,700 – 17,900 USD). The vehicle features a more streamlined front face, updated taillights, and a lengthened wheelbase. It offers three permanent magnet synchronous motor options and a BYD Blade LFP battery pack, with top speeds ranging from 150-160 km/h. The car’s power output is 70-150 kW, with a peak torque of 180-310 Nm. The low-power trim has a range of 420 km, while the high-power trim has a range of 520 km. The car’s features include a panoramic sunroof, front radar, and various exterior and interior design options.
