Union Minister Pralhad Joshi announced a 2,000 MW solar park project in Rajasthan, which will receive 30% central financial assistance. This initiative aims to transform Rajasthan into a renewable energy powerhouse. The announcement comes at the “Rising Rajasthan: Transition towards a Sustainable Energy Economy” summit in Jaipur, where Joshi emphasized the government’s collaboration with stakeholders to enhance the renewable sector. Rajasthan currently leads in solar power with 24.55 GW capacity and plans to expand its renewable capacity to 125 GW by 2030, as outlined in its Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024. The national goal is to reach 500 GW of renewable capacity by the same year. The project is in line with this vision. Joshi also discussed the importance of rapidly implementing initiatives such as PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and Rajasthan’s Green Hydrogen Policy to achieve these goals. The development is a significant step towards Rajasthan’s mission to become a leader in renewable energy.
