EDP Renewables has completed two large-scale solar plants in Italy, bringing a combined capacity of 103 MWp (82 MWac) online. The Castrum 13 and Tuscia 21 plants, located in the west-central region of Italy, will generate enough clean energy to power approximately 60,000 households, preventing 67,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually. This marks another milestone in EDP’s commitment to Italy’s energy transition, following the connection of its largest solar project in the country earlier this summer. EDP’s Executive Director for South and East Europe, Roberto Pasqua, stated that the company will continue to contribute to Italy’s renewable energy goals by adding over 200 MW of new solar and wind projects in the coming months. Since entering the Italian market in 2010, EDP has installed and constructed approximately 1 GW of solar and wind capacity, diversifying its technology offerings in line with its business plan.
