GSPARX Sdn Bhd, a solar investor and installer, has expanded its reach to the education sector, helping local institutions adopt sustainable energy solutions. The company has installed rooftop solar solutions at over 20 public and private institutions in Peninsular Malaysia, generating 24.36 MWp of power and reducing carbon emissions by 10.15 million tonnes. GSPARX’s zero capex business model allows educational institutions to save on electricity bills without upfront costs. The company has partnered with universities, including Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), to install large-scale solar PV projects, with potential savings of up to RM114 million in 25 years. GSPARX’s collaborations with educational institutions also provide opportunities for students to intern and gain exposure in the solar industry. The company is also working on a new solar battery technology with UTHM and TNB’s Strategic Ventures Department to enhance the existing green energy program at the university. By solarizing education centers, GSPARX aims to promote sustainability and reduce carbon emissions.
