Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its first all-electric production-ready model, the e Vitara, at the EICMA in Milan. This SUV is set to be launched globally in 2025 and will make its India debut in mid-2025. The exterior design is a major improvement from Maruti’s previous models, with a bold and rugged stance, thanks to thick cladding, chunky wheel arches, and a busy front fascia. The interior is premium-looking, with a dual-tone black and tan brown theme, and features like digital instrument panel, automatic climate control, and 360-degree camera. The technical specifications include two battery pack options (49kWh and 61kWh) and two drivetrains (2WD and 4WD with the ALLGRIP-e system). The expected price range is Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 30 lakh for the top-of-the-line AWD version. The e Vitara will compete with the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, and Mahindra’s XEV 9e and BE 6e.
