The Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, has emphasized that solar energy can be a game-changer in the fight against climate change. He made this statement at the curtain raiser for the Seventh Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly in New Delhi. The ISA has grown to 120 Member and Signatory Countries, demonstrating the critical role solar power plays in tackling energy access challenges and climate issues. The upcoming ISA Assembly, set to take place from November 3-6, 2024, aims to promote global solar deployment through various programs, initiatives, and collaborations. The event will discuss key initiatives, including the SolarX Startup Challenge and the Global Solar Facility, which aims to boost solar investments in underserved regions. The assembly will also include a visit to an agrivoltaic site in Najafgarh, which demonstrates the dual use of land for agriculture and solar energy generation.
