Aviva Life Insurance India has partnered with the Uttarakhand State Rural Livelihood Mission (USRLM) to drive financial inclusion and empower households in Uttarakhand. The partnership aims to address low insurance penetration in the state by raising awareness and making life insurance more accessible to underserved communities. Aviva India will provide training to Self-Help Group (SHG) members, including Banking Sakhis, to sell and service insurance products. These women will act as Bima Vahaks/Wellness Advisors, using handheld devices for policy servicing and digital transactions.
The partnership will create sustainable livelihood opportunities while improving rural access to financial services. Aviva India has developed a digital platform specifically designed for distribution to rural and lower-income groups, using AI and India’s digital stack to enable insurance purchases in just two minutes. The company will provide necessary training for the tool and products offered through SHG women and Banking Sakhis. USRLM’s CEO, Manuj Goel, stated that the partnership aims to provide financial security to every rural household, truly enriching lives and transforming villages.
