IndusInd Bank and UNICEF have launched a strategic partnership to enhance disaster resilience and climate risk management in five aspirational districts in India. The initiative, focused on building disaster-resilient communities and climate-risk informed efficient administrative systems, aims to create real-time monitoring systems, early warning mechanisms, and climate-risk advisory services to mitigate droughts, floods, and heatwaves. The collaboration involves various stakeholders, including CSR Trust for SDGs in India, IIT Gandhinagar, Gorakhpur Environment Action Group, and Mission Samriddhi. The program aims to integrate climate solutions into local government policies and foster stakeholder engagement. IndusInd Bank’s commitment to this program aligns with its initiative to uplift communities and foster environmental sustainability. The CEO of IndusInd Bank, Srinivas Bonam, emphasized the importance of creating sustainable solutions for vulnerable communities. The collaboration will target the districts of Dharashiv in Maharashtra, Begusarai in Bihar, Virudhunagar in Tamil Nadu, Baran in Rajasthan, and Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh.
