IndusInd Bank (IBL) and Bharat Financial Inclusion Limited (BFIL) have collaborated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) to launch the Bharat Sanjeevani Krishi Utthan initiative, aimed at supporting the government’s flagship program to form and promote 10,000 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs). The initiative will provide a framework to empower FPOs across India, enhancing farmers’ bargaining power, reducing production costs, and increasing their income. The partnership will also promote sustainable farming practices and enhance agricultural productivity. BFIL and IBL will set up a Centralized Project Management Unit to monitor and guide FPO projects, providing technical support in areas such as data management, capacity-building, and IT infrastructure. The partnership marks the first formal collaboration between the Ministry of Agriculture and corporate entities to achieve FPO development goals. The MoU was signed by the Ministry of Agriculture, BFIL, and IBL, with key stakeholders expressing their commitment to supporting agricultural growth and sustainability. The partnership aims to improve farmers’ income and livelihoods by leveraging technology and expertise to drive sustainable growth.
