According to the Forbes India Rich List 2024, several Indian company founders and leaders made it to the richest person’s list, with Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani ranking first and second respectively. Additionally, 20 companies in the Nifty 50 index exceeded their EBITDA estimates for 2023, with the gross corporate tax collection for FY 2023-24 increasing by 13.06% to INR 11.32 lakh crore. The net corporate tax collection for the same period grew by 10.26% to INR 9.11 lakh crore.

The top 10 highest tax-paying companies in India for FY 2023 are led by Reliance Industries Ltd, which paid INR 20,713 crore in tax. Other notable companies on the list include State Bank of India, HDFC Bank, Tata Consultancy Services, ICICI Bank, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, and Infosys. These companies have not only grown their wealth but have also contributed significantly to the Indian exchequer through taxes.
