RBI’s stricter HFCs norms to have minimal impact on PNB Hsg, LIC Hsg, Can Fin Homes, say analysts

PNB Housing, LIC Housing Finance and Can Fin Homes will see limited to no impact of Reserve Bank of India’s proposed stricter norms for deposit-taking housing finance companies (HFCs), analysts said.
The central bank on January 15 proposed to reduce the ceiling for public deposits held by HFCs to 1.5x from 3x of net owned funds.

ACEN guarantees $320-m loan of unit from PNB, RCBC

ACEN Corp. said Monday said it issued corporate guarantees to Philippine National Bank and Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. which lent $320 million to ACEN Cayman, one of its international units.

ACEN said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange it issued corporate guarantees in support of ACEN Cayman to PNB for $140 million and RCBC for $180 million on Jan. 12, 2024.

“This loan obtained by ACEN Cayman shall be used to redeem the redeemable preferred shares held by AC Energy Finance International Limited [ACEFIL] in ACEN Cayman; the proceeds will in turn be used by ACEFIL to redeem its maturing green bonds,” the company said.

Yes Bank makes biggest market cap gain among banks in Q4 2023

NEW DELHI: Yes Bank posted the highest percentage increase in market capitalization among Indian banks in the quarter ended December 31, 2023. Market capitalization for the lender rose 24.4 per cent to Rs 616.94 billion from October to December, helping Yes Bank move two slots higher to 14th position in the list of top 20 Indian banks by market cap, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence data & analysis.
