Raagini Gupta, a Gurugram-based woman, has accused travel booking platform ClearTrip and IndiGo Airlines of fraud, stating that her flight tickets were cancelled without her consent. According to her, she booked three tickets for an IndiGo flight on February 28 through ClearTrip, and completed her web check-in at 3:20 pm. However, when she arrived at the airport, she was told that her booking had been cancelled, despite not receiving any cancellation notification or call on her registered number or email.

Gupta alleged that ClearTrip claimed that her booking was cancelled at 7:35 pm, but she received no such confirmation. She also claimed that another family of five faced a similar issue, where two of their tickets were cancelled without their consent. Gupta took to LinkedIn to narrate her ordeal, vowing to take legal action against both ClearTrip and IndiGo for “harassment and security breach.”

IndiGo offered her seats on an early morning flight, which she declined, and instead booked a cab and travelled overnight. Gupta accused ClearTrip of leaking her personal credentials and IndiGo of failing to rectify the issue. She also threatened to escalate the matter to the Cyber Crime department, stating that this was “identity theft, data breach, and fraud.”

ClearTrip apologized for the inconvenience, while IndiGo asked Gupta for details to investigate the matter. Netizens also condemned the actions of both companies, with some calling for them to be taken to court for allegedly engaging in fraudulent practices. The incident has raised concerns about data security and customer service, and it remains to be seen how ClearTrip and IndiGo will address the issue.
