The Union Civil Aviation Minister, Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, will inaugurate a newly built Air Traffic Control (ATC) Tower at the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar airport in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday. The new tower, along with a fire station and waste disposal plant, will be inaugurated simultaneously. The waste disposal plant is notable for making the airport the first zero-waste airport in the country. The airport’s infrastructure is being expanded to accommodate future growth, with MP Shankar Lalwani having inspected the premises and held discussions with Minister Naidu for further development. The new ATC tower, built at a cost of Rs 85 crore, is double the size of the existing tower, measuring 180 square meters, while the technical block spans 4,410 square meters. The new fire station covers 1,491 square meters. Minister Naidu’s visit marks a significant milestone in the airport’s modernization efforts, with MP Kailash Vijayvargiya and other officials in attendance.
