Heavy fog blanketed the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad on Saturday, resulting in disruptions to regular operations. The fog led to low visibility, making it unsafe for flights to land, and several flights were diverted to other airports. Six flights from domestic and international destinations were affected, with some rerouted to cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, and Vijayawada. IndiGo flights 6E086 and 6E094, Air India flights AI2829 and AI2625, and Qatar Airways flight QP1438 were among those that were forced to make unscheduled changes. Many passengers were left stranded at the airports, facing frustration and uncertainty as they waited for further instructions. The airport authorities attributed the disruptions to dense fog that persisted for several hours in the morning. Thankfully, visibility improved later in the day, but the incident highlights the challenges of navigating adverse weather conditions in aviation.
Air India’s unexpected arrival at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) marked an unscheduled stop for the commercial flight.
