A delegation of BJP MPs from Odisha led by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu and submitted a memorandum to upgrade the civil aviation sector in the state. The MPs requested the Minister to develop existing airports, including the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, and to set up new airports at Puri and Charbatia airstrip in Cuttack. They also sought the expansion of airstrips at Jeypore and Rourkela and development of Tusura airstrip in Balangir. Additionally, they requested the inclusion of at least 10 more locations in Odisha under the UDAN scheme to enhance regional air connectivity. These locations include Barisal, Hirakud, Rangeilunda, Paradeep, Utkela, Kalinganagar, Raisuan, Padmapur, Rasgovindpur, and Rairangpur.
