A business owner, Sandeep Passey, had a heart attack on an Air India flight from Delhi to Melbourne. The incident occurred just an hour after takeoff when Passey felt excessive sweating, dizziness, and chest pain. The air hostess alerted the crew, who called for medical assistance. A doctor couple on board, who were traveling in business class, examined Passey and provided basic first aid. The pilot was informed, and the flight diverted to the Lucknow airport, where Passey was rushed to a private hospital. Passey is grateful to the flight crew, the doctor couple, and Air India’s CEO for their prompt action, which he believes saved his life. He owns a software development and export company in Gurgaon and other locations.
