The Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) and the Social Security Organisation (Socso) have partnered to protect aviation industry workers and ensure employers meet legal requirements for Socso contributions. The partnership aims to prevent disruptions in the industry, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic, which severely impacted aviation workers. Socso’s CEO, Datuk Seri Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed, emphasized the importance of early intervention, registering employees, and contributing to Socso from the beginning. The partnership will streamline enforcement by sharing data and allowing for proactive intervention. It will also focus on job creation, particularly in roles like pilots and licensed aircraft engineers, through job placements and career programs. Additionally, Socso is launching a National Career Exploration Centre (NPCEC) in 2025, which will provide career guidance, labour market insights, and virtual career exploration. The partnership aims to improve worker security and ensure the long-term growth of the aviation industry.
Mavcom and Socso collaborate to safeguard the aviation industry’s workforce, generating new job opportunities in the process.
