As part of Tata Group’s efforts to consolidate its airline business, Air India has merged Vistara with itself and integrated AIX Connect with Air India Express. The airline has also revised its flight schedules to offer greater flexibility to travelers. From February 1, 2025, Air India will have daytime and nighttime departures on the Delhi-Frankfurt and Delhi-Paris routes, making it easier for passengers to travel between Europe and Australia or Southeast Asia via Delhi. The airline has also adjusted its flights on the Delhi-Sydney and Delhi-Melbourne routes to enable seamless connections between Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia. Additionally, Air India has announced a $400 million refit program to revamp its aircraft fleet, with the first narrow-body A320 neo already started and wide-body aircraft to follow in early 2025. The airline’s CEO believes that most air traffic growth will come from domestic and short-haul international operations in 2025.
