Air India is revamping its international network by deploying refurbished A320 neos with fresh interiors across all classes on certain routes. The airline will start deploying these planes for all flights between Delhi and Bangkok from January 16, 2025, with a new fourth daily flight added to the route. Additionally, Air India will operate erstwhile Vistara’s A321 neos and B787-9s on certain routes, including Delhi-Frankfurt, Mumbai-Frankfurt, and Mumbai-Singapore. The airline will also optimize flight schedules for Delhi-Frankfurt and Delhi-Paris routes, offering more flexibility to travelers. As part of the Tata Group’s strategy, Air India is integrating Air India Express and Vistara, with a $400 million refit program for 67 legacy aircraft. The retrofitting of the first A320 neo has started, while wide-body aircraft is expected to begin next year. Air India expects most air traffic growth to come from domestic and short-haul international operations in 2025. The airline’s goal is to enhance global connectivity and provide more options for travelers.
