The Indian government has launched the “Udaan Yatri Cafe” initiative to provide affordable food and beverage options for passengers at airports. The pilot project will start at Kolkata International Airport, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and will offer a range of refreshments such as tea, coffee, snacks, and water at reasonable prices. The initative aims to make air travel more affordable and inclusive, particularly for passengers traveling under the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme. The Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, unveiled the official logo for the airport’s centenary celebrations and announced that the cafe kiosks will be expanded to all airports managed by the Airport Authority of India if the pilot project is successful. The initiative is part of the government’s efforts to promote the growth of the aviation sector and create more employment opportunities.
