Air India Express is set to introduce a direct flight service between Tiruchi International Airport and Dammam, Saudi Arabia, starting January 2. This will be the airline’s first flight service to Saudi Arabia from Tiruchi. The bi-weekly service will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, with flights departing Tiruchi at 6:05 am and arriving in Dammam at 9:10 am, and departing Dammam at 10:10 am and arriving in Tiruchi at 5:40 pm. The new service is expected to increase international passenger traffic at the airport, which is already one of the busiest in the country. Many people from southern and central Tamil Nadu are employed in Dammam, making this service a positive development for the region. The service may also boost medical tourism in Tiruchi. The airline is also considering operating a service to Riyadh, as there is potential in this sector.
