IndiGo Airlines has announced the launch of direct flights from Kolkata, India to Phuket, Thailand starting December 27, 2024. This will be the airline’s second direct flight to Phuket, following its successful operations from Delhi. The new route will expand IndiGo’s global network and cater to the growing number of tourists from India to Thailand. The airline currently operates 11 weekly flights from Kolkata to Bangkok. The Phuket route will offer a daily flight, bringing the total number of flights between India and Thailand to 93 weekly. The addition of this route will boost accessibility to Phuket for tourists from the eastern part of India, and bolster trade, commerce, and tourism between India and Southeast Asia. The route will also benefit from Kolkata’s rapid infrastructure development to meet the growing demand for travel from the region to Southeast Asia.
