IndiGo airline has issued another advisory regarding its flights to Chennai and other areas in Tamil Nadu due to rainfall and inclement weather conditions caused by a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal. The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has issued heavy rainfall warnings for 19 districts, including Nagapattinam which received 6 cm of rainfall between Wednesday and Thursday. The India Meteorological Department has stated that the depression has turned into a deep depression and may weaken before making landfall near the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast on November 30. IndiGo’s first advisory was issued when the deep depression was first observed, and the airline has continued to issue updates on flight status. The IMD has extended the heavy rain alert to December 1, with Chennai, Kancheepuram, and Puducherry expected to experience intense rainfall.
