Rourkela, Odisha has been experiencing frequent flight cancellations on the Rourkela-Bhubaneswar route due to technical issues and repair work. Alliance Air, the only airline operating on this route, has cancelled its services on certain days, including Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, until December 15, 2024. This has left many passengers frustrated, with some calling the services a “farce”. Local associations and organizations have been pressing the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to allow other airlines to operate on the route, considering the difficulties faced by passengers due to frequent cancellations. The airport authorities have been silent on the issue, leaving passengers with limited options and expenses.
