VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) and Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL) chairman Madhaiyaan Angamuthu said that they are focussing on beach erosion and to take permanent solution to avoid it. Cargo vessel continues journey with assistance of INS Visakhapatnam – INDIA – GENERAL

NEW DELHI: INS Visakhapatnam on rescuing the US cargo vessel M V Genco Picardy, which was attacked by Houthi drones in the Gulf of Aden while en route from Egypt to India. The incident happened on January 17.

After receiving a distress call, INS Visakhapatnam quickly intercepted the ship. Twenty-two people, including nine Indians, were on board the merchant ship M V Genco Picardy. No one was hurt. The resulting fire was brought under control.

A cargo ship under attack by drones in the Gulf of Aden was rescued by Indian Navy’s warship INS Visakhapatnam on Thursday.
