Parle Products, a leading FMCG company in India, is planning to hike prices by 5% for its range of products, including bread, biscuits, rusk, cake products, and snacks, starting January 2025, according to a report by CNBCTV18. The company is also considering reducing the weight of its entry-level and low-unit price packs, including its flagship Parle-G biscuit by 5-10%. The price hike is due to the increasing cost of raw materials and the sharp rise in import duty on palm oil. This is not the first time Parle has increased prices, as they also raised prices 5-10% for products like Parle G, Hide & Seek, and KrackJack in 2021, and 7-8% for rusk and cake segments in the past. The price hike will only affect packs above Rs 20.
