Pro-Kannada organizations protested in front of the Amul Milk office in Bengaluru, demanding that Amul’s management not oppose the sale of Karnataka Milk Federation’s Nandini Milk products in Delhi. The protest was sparked by reports of Amul allegedly obstructing access to Nandini products in Delhi, against whom the farmers of Karnataka have built and supported for years. The organizations issued a letter to the Gujarat Milk Producers Cooperative Federation stating that Amul’s actions were “highly condemnable” and would not be tolerated. The letter also threatened to boycott Amul and Mother Dairy products in Karnataka if the sale of Nandini products in Delhi was hindered. The organizations believe that Amul, as a cooperative milk organization from North India, should not be opposed to Nandini products, but rather compete on quality to win customer loyalty.
