UAB pharmacy expert warns of kids getting hands on pills

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Parents that rely on prescription medicine are urged to keep a watchful eye on their kids. Each year, about 60,000 emergency department visits are made after kids under 6-years-old unexpectedly take pills without an adult.Mike James, an Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer at UAB, says there are things parents can do to prevent their pills from falling into the wrong hands.
