On International Women’s Day, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized the importance of strengthening the city’s healthcare system and prioritizing women’s education as crucial for building a progressive and inclusive society. She reiterated the government’s commitment to the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign, which aims to empower women through education and healthcare. Gupta stressed that every citizen should have access to convenient medical services, and no one should be deprived of the right treatment.
Gupta also highlighted the vital contributions made by women across various fields and urged them to prioritize their health and well-being. She encouraged everyone to work together to build a future where gender equality is a lived reality.
The event, organized by Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh, featured a walkathon and a “Women’s Empowerment Programme” that included a panel discussion on women’s health challenges, workplace equality, and inclusive growth. The event saw the participation of around 400 people and featured banners and placards advocating for women’s rights.
Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, managing director and CEO of Fortis Healthcare, emphasized the crucial role of women in healthcare, noting that they bring expertise, empathy, and innovation to patient care. However, he also pointed out that women face unique health challenges and systemic barriers in the workplace. The event aimed to promote gender equality and equal opportunities for women, and to accelerate action for gender equality.
